1.Attractant effect
As an effective ligand for taste receptors:
Fish taste receptors interact with low molecular compounds containing(CH3)2S-and(CH3)2N-groups.DMPT, as a strong olfactory nerve stimulant, almost have the effect of inducing food and promoting food intake for all aquatic animals.
As a growth stimulant for aquatic animals, it can significantly promote the feeding behavior and growth upon various marine freshwater fishes, shrimps and crabs. The feeding stimulation effect of aquatic animals was 2.55 times higher than that of glutamine (which was known to be the best feeding stimulant for most freshwater fishes before DMPT).
2.High efficient methyl donor, growth promoting
Dimethyl-Beta-Propiothetin (DMPT) molecules (CH3) 2S groups have methyl donor function, could be effectively utilized by aquatic animals, and promote the secretion of digestive enzymes in the animal body, promote fish digestion and nutrient absorption , improve the utilization rate of the feed.
